Lee Brian Schrager’s Culinary Cinema program kicks off  Sunday, February 23rd at 6pm with a FREE outdoor screening of Wayne Wang’s Soul of a Banquet as part of Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival.

The program then continues with 5 masterfully prepared three-course menus inspired by and paired with each film.

MIFF’s newest programmer, Lee Brian Schrager, comes custom-fit for the role as Miami and America’s chief culinary cinema curator. (“No one else does or has ever done what Mr. Schrager does in the food world,”) declared The New York Times – “The Food Festival Booker, Catering to Star Chefs”, by Allen Salkin, June 11, 2008. As founder of both the national, star-studded South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SBWFF) and New York City Wine & Food Festival (NYCWFF) and a food world celebrity in his own right, Mr. Schrager is deeply connected in Hollywood. At his Wine & Food Festivals, Mr. Schrager has secured the participation of Antonio Banderas, Whoopi Goldberg, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart for hosting and presenting duties at his events, to name just a few. Mr. Schrager is also a renowned cinephile, and has previously served on the jury of the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival.
